Our mission is to prepare students with professional knowledge, research capability, ethical responsibility and global perspectives to fulfill national development needs, within the constraints of environment and sustainability. The educational objectives are listed as follows:
- Professional knowledge: to provide students with a strong polymer science education and engineering practice.
- Research capability: to prepare students to proactively identify, formulate, and solve problems and with abilities for critical thinking, effective communication and collaborative work in diverse teams.
- Ethical responsibility: to prepare students to deal ethically with the impact of technology in our society and to be sensitive to professional and societal responsibility.
- Global perspectives: to prepare students to be globally-engaged citizens and able to function professionally in an increasingly international and rapidly changing world.
- A fundamental understanding of polymer physics, chemistry, characterization and engineering.
- An ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines.
- An ability to apply fundamental knowledge and practical design experience to solve engineering problems.
